I, Mark Foresee, am announcing my candidacy for Boone County Sheriff subject to the Republican Primary in May.
I was born in Kansas City, Mo. and resided there through my third-grade year. My parents Thomas Von and Loretta Foresee moved to Parsons, Kansas. We resided there through my fourth and fifth-grade year. However, I would always return to Boone County, Arkansas during the summer months. I would stay with my uncle and aunt, Doy and Phillis Marshall, or my grandparents, Arch and Monia Foresee. This was due to my love of farm life, hunting, and fishing. I started my sixth-grade year at Bergman School and graduated from Bergman High School.
Upon graduation I signed up for the Arkansas Army National Guard, where I studied mechanics, survey, and took NCOIC leadership classes. I was discharged with an honorable discharge.
In 1991, I married my wife, Doris Foresee. We have two children Jamie (Foresee) Gonzalez and Derek Foresee and six grandchildren. We homeschooled both our children. Jamie furthered her education after being honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps and received a Master of Business Administration Degree that emphasizes in Human Resources. Derek is a graduate of Northark Technical Center.
In 1992, I went to North Arkansas Community College and studied EMS. Upon graduation I went to work full time at Carroll Regional Medical Center and continued to my education. I then became a Respiratory Therapist, Phlebotomist, CPR and EMS instructor until 1999.
In 1999, I began to study insurance and insurance law which was the start of 25-year career in investigative catastrophic insurance work. I have worked everything from wild land fires and earthquakes from the west coast to the tornados and hailstorms through the central United States, to the Hurricanes along all the coastal states and in Puerto Rico. During my career, I have assisted and worked on committees with insurance companies and governing bodies that assisted in the security and safety of the communities, evacuations of families, relocation of families that has been displaced for the homes, and disaster relief. I have worked and assisted in first line reports with law enforcement and fire departments of arson investigation and many types of insurance fraud cases, and theft of property. I have also been trained in communicative and interviewing skills for these types of cases. For the last 18 years, I have worked and assisted in leadership and training positions, helping oversee and problem solving in the field for multiple adjusters at one time. I am used to working in high stress situations where everything is destroyed for miles on end.
In 2005, I started my first insurance adjusting business. In 2012, I opened my insurance agency. Both has been successful and have prospered.
My commitment to the residents of Boone County, if you support me as your Sherriff, I will put the safety of the families and visitor’s first. I will stand against un-constitutional overreach and will work to protect all constitutional rights. I want to pilot a sex crime division. I will work with all other law enforcement agencies to pilot this division. I will maintain a program of educating and training all employees. I have always and will continue to lead my team by example. I will work with all governing offices to help in the readiness of our county in the case of a catastrophic natural disaster. I will make sure that we have a sound hiring committee that will screen new employees. This will follow all local and state guidelines. I will stay committed to the residents of Boone County and will not leave the office for personal gain or adventure.
